The upper age limit of the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test for UG candidates has been removed by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The announcement was done on Wednesday 9 March 2022.
The NMC has stated the news in the letter addressing to the National Testing Agency. The NMC secretary Dr. Pulkesh Kumar stated that the decision was made in a meeting that was held in October last year. And the decision was taken with the approval of Dr Suresh Chandra Sharma, the Chairperson of NMC
The news was shared with students by the twit of the union minister Dr Mansuk Mandaviya. He tweeted, “Good news for the aspirants of NEET-UG!
The National Medical Commission removes the fixed upper age limit for appearing in the NEET-UG examination.
The decision will immensely benefit aspiring doctors and further help in strengthening medical education in the country.”
