About IFOM Exam

IFOM is the International Foundation of Medicine exam conducted by the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) to design high-quality assessments for healthcare professionals.

Generally, the USMLE exam has many questions that largely US-based such as public health, population health & healthcare questions.

IFOM is the pre-form of the USMLE exam which includes the questions that often used by the USMLE exam.

The IFOM has mainly two exams

• Basic Science Exam i.e BSE
• Clinical Science Exam i.e. CSE

1. IFOM - BSE Exam

IFOM Basic Science Examination is developed to assess international knowledge with respect to medical students who have completed the preclinical curriculum & wants to start their study of clinical medicine.

2. IFOM - CSE Exam

IFOM Clinical Science Examination is developed to assess clinical knowledge in medicine, surgery, pediatrics, surgery, etc. for those students who are in the final year of undergraduate medical education.
